Washington Dulles Marriott Suites

For a business trip, this was a one-night stop, and I'll stay here again if I return to the area. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle to and from Dulles, and plenty of food options right outside the back door, from Panera and a Turkish restaurant to burgers and bubble tea. It's convenient for the airport without feeling like a generic airport hotel. The rooms are enormous and super clean, which is impressive given the size. There's a common area with a chaise sofa, desk, bar, and large TV, while the separate bedroom has its own TV and French doors. The bathroom is split into a sink and closet area and a separate toilet and shower area. Hardwood floors and area rugs, plus lots of big windows, make the space feel bright and warm. The updated lobby has seating, a small canteen, and a bar and restaurant. The staff were welcoming too.

The hostess really stands out, she's fantastic. The breakfast team were the most welcoming and attentive I've encountered at any hotel. They have a great omelette station and fresh fruit alongside the usual Marriott breakfast fare.

The room layout was nice, and it's a nice hotel in a good, walkable location with plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast, though, was disappointing. It cost $27 and wasn't good: the scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and coffee were all poor. I've stayed at several nice hotels that provide a free hot breakfast. Marriott shouldn't present this as a special breakfast when it's more expensive and doesn't taste as good as the free breakfasts competitors offer.

I always enjoy coming back for a quiet, restful stay. The rooms are outstandingly clean, and the front desk staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. That really makes a difference.
