The pool was heated to a comfortable temperature, and the jacuzzi was relaxing. We also enjoyed the fire pit and comfortable seating. Our room was clean and quiet during our weekend staycation, and the staff were friendly and quick to handle requests. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Just keep the extra costs in mind if you’re not a Marriot member: parking is $70 for valet or $50 at the garage across the street, and WiFi is $14 per day.

I was at the Marriott Marquis Houston for 10 days at the beginning of February for a work conference, and Michelle made the stay especially comfortable. She went above and beyond, paying attention to details and helping make the visit memorable. Even when I locked myself out of my room, she greeted me with a smile and reassured me it was no big deal. Her professionalism and kindness reflect well on the hotel. Please pass along my thanks to her, and know that her effort is appreciated. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality felt welcoming and professional. I’m grateful for the exceptional service I received.

The cold water in the Lazy River and pool was a real disappointment. I think they warm it a little, but it was nowhere near comfortable, so I wouldn’t recommend going in the winter. Maybe 10 people were in the river, while the hot tub was packed. It took some courage to get into the water. We also struggled with the noise. At least in my room, there was about a 1 inch gap under the main door, so we could hear everything happening in the hall and people kept waking us up. Even on the 16th floor, traffic noise woke us several times. I need a quiet room to sleep. The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean, with great service and helpful, friendly check-in staff. We also loved the concert under the stars, with an Abba tribute band, and the nicely dressed Santa who came over to talk to my girls. Those were lovely, fun experiences.

The kids loved the well-kept pool, and even on a 55° day the heated water was enjoyable. There were plenty of places to eat on the property and within walking distance, and Vale was on point during our stay. We chose a New Year’s Eve staycation with the family, and our room was spotless and ready at check-in. Great hospitality at a beautiful hotel. We’ll definitely come back in the summer.
