Montrose Guesthouse Suites

The good parts were the location, bed, sheets, and duvet. The rest of the stay was awful. The air conditioning didn't work, the shower wasn't good, and neither TV remote worked properly: the common-area one had no battery, while the bedroom remote still didn't work with a battery in it. This is an Airbnb, not a hotel. The person responsible was pleasant on the phone, but there was no in-person help or support. A couple in room 1 made the shared space unbearable during my three-day stay. They fought and screamed constantly, attacked each other, let their pitbull loose in the common area so other guests couldn't get through, smoked marijuana all the time, and played extremely loud music. No one did anything about it. It was a bad environment.

In central Montrose, you're within walking distance of pretty much anything, and it's a fun part of Houston. We stayed with a friend and had a great time, with a mix of visitors from out of town and people looking for a safe place to celebrate or party. The rooms and shared space were very comfortable for a regular stay. Just keep in mind it's an Airbnb-style place, so don't expect the Ritz-Carlton at this price. The shower takes about 10 seconds to warm up, then it's fine.

The staff really looked after us and whatever we needed. Our room was spotless, and the beds were comfortable. One of the best places to stay in Houston, and I can't recommend it enough.

The room was a real letdown. The beds felt hard as a rock, and the Roku remote wasn't compatible with the TV, so we couldn't watch anything in the room. We were in town for a visit at MD Anderson and wish we'd booked one of the hospital's suggested places. Update for the owner: the booking was under Mosby. Yes, it's memory foam, but it still wasn't soft or comfortable. I do want to give credit for the great location and the beautiful rooftop view. I don't like making everything negative when there are good things too.
