Super 8 Jamestown

The staff were really nice, and the location was great. The towels and linens were clean, and I had no housekeeping complaints. Still, the room smelled smoky and funky, almost like a long-term smoker had just been moved out. My two well-mannered show dogs didn't like the carpet and had trouble settling. I don't know why motels still use carpet when it gets gross so quickly. I've had the same smelly-room experience at two Super 8s in Iowa, too. I'd rather see laminate flooring. Breakfast was sparse, just coffee, bagels, and a waffle maker. I would have liked some protein, but coffee was fine since I'm not much of a breakfast person and had food in my cooler for the drive. I've stayed here before and can manage one night, but I'll probably try somewhere else next time. My expectations for a motel are pretty basic: I just want it clean. I was only there for a night, so it wasn't the end of the world.

A good spot to get some rest, with clean rooms. We had a maintenance problem in ours, and it was fixed promptly. Breakfast offered a decent variety, including a machine that makes pancakes automatically. Good job, thanks!

The front desk ladies were incredible and made me feel like I'd known them for years. Everything was in top shape, even the brand-new washer and dryer, which got my clothes cleaner than I do, so maybe that's more a reflection on me. I've had bad rooms at Super 8 before, with a broken fridge or a microwave so dirty I wouldn't use it, so this was a pleasant surprise. I'd give the Jamestown Super 8 a 98. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The building is a little dated, but my room was very clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed the stay. The woman at the desk was friendly and welcoming at both check-in and checkout. She answered my questions and promptly brought an extra towel when I asked. I recommend staying here and will return.
