Super 8 by Wyndham Kansas City

I've stayed here a couple of times and keep coming back. The service is always top notch, and the rooms are consistently clean with comfortable beds. There are restaurants nearby and a gas station a quick trip away. It's far enough from the interstate that traffic noise isn't an issue.

The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure, but the sheets were stained, as were all the bathroom towels, which didn't look clean. The room had a strong musty smell, and the Kleenex box had just one tissue in it. I'm not sure this hotel uses bleach. At check-in, the employee was friendly and efficient. When we left the next morning, the employee was asleep and didn't engage with us.

Breakfast was a joke for what I'm used to. There were only bagels, cereal, and coffee, so I thought very little of it. The location was okay, right off the highway near Worlds of Fun. The front desk staff were great, greeting us right away and being very friendly. The room was clean and decent, but the plugs were too loose to hold chargers, there were no USB ports, and the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way.

Cynthia is the reason I'm giving three stars instead of two. She promptly handled the dirty linen and was polite and respectful. The toilet, tub, and sink were clean, though the sink was in the room apart from the tub and toilet. The linens were very dingy, and one bed had dirty sheets. They need to be replaced. It looked as if the place might be under renovation. Breakfast was standard continental fare: toaster waffles, bagels, instant oatmeal, mini muffins, orange juice, apple juice, and cream cheese. Coffee and tea were available all day.
