Brookside Motel

The owners are wonderful, and the brook is amazing. We could hear traffic, but it still felt off the beaten path. They upgraded us to the “queen cottage,” with a queen bed instead of a full, and it was nice and very quiet. We had our own swing to relax on. We don’t use pools, so all I can say is we saw people swimming. This is our second visit and we keep coming back. Sure, the rooms are a little dated, the bed wasn’t as comfy as home but wasn’t horrible, and there are some cobwebs because it’s on a tree-covered hill. It’s quaint, and that’s part of why we return. The stairs look like the ones Baby went up in “Dirty Dancing.” As a product of the 80's, I danced up them, of course. We’ll keep coming here.

The bed was very firm, and the place was clean with nicely maintained grounds. But the refrigerator wasn’t running at all, even though it was plugged in, and wasn’t cold one bit. A young man from the office checked it and offered to move us, but we were only there for one night. In the morning, our shower stayed cold and never even got warm. The office was closed when we went to check out, so we couldn’t give them our feedback. We left the key in the drop box.

The staff were really nice, and the person in the office gave me information about nearby attractions and restaurants. They cleaned the room every day. It was pretty clean and smelled good, with a comfortable bed. There’s a pool, and the location is very convenient to the attraction area.

Clean and quiet, with a convenient location and excellent service. We’ll definitely stay there again.
