Bungalows Hostel

For a weekend trip from Texas, I mainly want somewhere I can feel safe and get a decent night’s sleep, and this place saves money. It’s a hidden spot behind the Stratosphere, with twin beds and curtained shared rooms that can be same-gender or mixed. There are lockers, so bring your own lock. Get your groceries at the nearby Albertsons and label your bags with your name and checkout date. Bring sheets and pillowcases to cover theirs, plus a long towel, since their towels can be used as shower mats. I’d like to see some kitchen items from Goodwill or the Salvation Army: a large microwave, toaster, forks, proper cutting knives, plates, and bowls. The thing I don’t like is seeing local people staying there. At check-in I saw women who looked like street women on a corner and men who looked homeless. I hope that when I return in May of 2026, I don’t see these shady characters.

There’s a large outdoor common area where you can sit and hang out, and bungalows has everything I look for in a hostel. I travel alone and have stayed in hostels around the world, from cheap ones to more expensive places. This is the cheapest in Vegas, and it’s clean, organized, and feels safe. I walked around the neighborhood on a Friday night and felt okay on the streets. You still need to be street smart, watch what’s around you, and keep your things close. The area is well lit. There are homeless people, but they keep to themselves. I enjoy staying here and would happily come back.

A laid-back hostel right on Vegas Blvd. The staff really go the extra mile to keep guests happy, and there are lots of amenities for enjoying the Strip or just relaxing, day or night.

The common space was pleasant, the facilities were fine for a hostel, and everyone I met was friendly. The staff were especially nice. It’s a short walk, about two minutes, to the Deuce bus, so getting to the Strip is easy. The neighborhood itself is loud, though, so noise cancelling headphones are a good idea. They provide a fitted sheet, a top sheet, and a towel, but no blanket. The website doesn’t say you need to bring one, and the air conditioning is kept very cold. There wasn’t a hand towel or paper towels in the bathroom either. The stay was okay, but I’m not sure I’d return.
