Residence Inn Lincoln South

The room still wasn’t ready until about 6:05-6:10 PM, nearly two hours after we’d been left waiting. We’d booked this stay for a concert months in advance and paid $300 for one night, relying on the guaranteed 4:00 PM check-in. We arrived at 4:30 PM and were told the delay was due to short staffing. The front desk employee was incredibly kind and professional, and did everything she could in a difficult situation. This was a failure of management and operations, not her service. The hotel knew a major event would bring a large influx of guests, but apparently wasn’t prepared or properly staffed. That lack of planning is unacceptable at this price. With nowhere to put our belongings, we were told to get ready in a public restroom. Our plans for the evening were thrown off, and we couldn’t use the room during the time we’d paid for. We had to reschedule our Uber, losing $74 and then paying another $50 for a different ride. That extra expense was entirely preventable if the hotel had provided what we reserved. A guaranteed check-in time is part of the booking contract, not optional. If the hotel can’t meet it, guests should be proactively compensated instead of left scrambling and covering extra costs. I’m requesting a refund or, at minimum, substantial compensation for the disruption and expenses. This stay fell far below expectations for $300 a night. Very unfortunate 😞

The location is cute, and breakfast is delicious. They always have water and fruit out, and the small fitness center is good enough. But the place could use a mini revamp. The walls are paper thin, so I could hear the man upstairs snoring. The feather pillows were flat, and the ends of the feathers poked me. My towels felt like sandpaper, and one set had brown stains. I’d give it 5 stars if not for those things.

The property is well maintained, and there were extra hand towels already in the room. The staff were pleasant. Thank you.

Clean rooms, a fair price, and courteous staff made us really happy with our choice. Residence will be our pick from now on. It stands well above the other Lincoln hotels we’ve stayed at.
