Hampton Inn & Suites Longview North

Breakfast never changed, and I think Waffle House or McDonald's would have been better. The pool was dirty, and the bathroom by the lobby was gross, with empty soap dispensers. In our room, the shower was nasty and there was a strange brown splatter in the tub. Things had been ripped off the wall and left unrepaired. Parts of the hallway floor felt like they might give way. In a few spots, my foot actually sank as if the floor were broken. I did get a free show of someone being arrested, so that was... fun.

The location and general look of the hotel were nice, and the front desk staff were usually kind and responsive. I was in town for a week helping cover at a local hospital, though, and had several problems during my stay. My key card failed three times in the first three days, so I had to go back downstairs to have it reactivated. It wasn't near a phone or anything like that. I asked for a new card and had no more trouble after that. Room service was also an issue. I went five days and four nights without fresh towels or room cleaning. When I asked, the desk said service was every other day. They cleaned that day, but never again, even though I didn't have a “do not disturb” sign up. The fire alarm went off three mornings and once this evening. It's deafening, and my ears are still ringing ten minutes after the latest one. I assume the morning alarms may be related to cooking breakfast and poor ventilation. Four times in a week makes it seem like an ongoing problem that nobody is addressing. If I come back for another week, I'll try a different hotel, even though the location is great.

Keima has such a warm, kind energy that guests feel welcome and appreciated. She's a real sweetheart, and it's clear she takes pride in what she does. Every detail gets attention, and she carries herself with care and professionalism. Her rooms are spotless, comfortable, and inviting. Every interaction I've had with her has been wonderful. Hampton Inn in Longview, Texas is lucky to have such an outstanding housekeeper and genuine asset. If you stay there, Keima will take good care of you. She deserves all the recognition she can get.

I'm local and live on the south side, and finding one hotel with everything you want isn't easy. This La Quinta is a nice change for me, and an upgrade from where I live. It's a simple, cheaper pick in Longview alongside Hilton. I like that there's a jacuzzi and that the pool room is actually heated. The breakfast was good enough that I told the front desk how much I enjoyed it. The location loses a star for me because I don't like how crowded the north side of town is. I think the hotel deserves a higher rating, though I guess a lot of people who come through don't appreciate it. 🥰🥰🥰💯 Update: Breakfast isn't good every day. I was looking forward to an omelet, but found a La Quinta style breakfast instead. I only get a waffle, then have to buy something elsewhere. Since we pay more for these rooms, they could serve a quality breakfast every day. The juice tastes watery and fake, and the eggs are FLAVORLESS. The omelets are delicious, so just serve them every day. Then I can get full for what I pay.
