Hotel Silver Lake Los Angeles

Horrible, dirty, and loud. We stayed all 3 nights because it was already paid for. If our child had been with us, I definitely wouldn't have stayed. It doesn't feel family friendly at all. I got the impression some people lived there permanently while others rented by the hour. Strong marijuana smells, everything in the room was dirty, and people walked and yelled through the main halls until early morning. The surroundings weren't great either. I gave it one star because the front desk people were nice enough and parking was okay.

The bathroom was covered in mold, the mattress felt as stiff as a plywood box, and the room smelled dirty. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I could've found a cheaper, cleaner Super 8. After reading the reviews, I was almost glad staff didn't come in to make the bed or bring fresh towels. I had no idea what they might have rifled through in our luggage. I don't know if the photos came from some secret stage room, another hotel, or rooms that were decent a couple decades ago. All I know is these reviews seemed completely right. If you care about feeling safe and having a clean place, avoid it at all costs.

My suite had plenty of room, with a door between the living space and bedroom. The staff were friendly and polite, and clean linen was available when requested. It was quiet and peaceful. The pool was closed, and there wasn't a guest laundry room.

The floor was so dirty it looked like nobody had cleaned it, and the sink wouldn't drain. The bathroom fan didn't work either. The rooms smelled dusty and everything felt old and neglected. We were horrified when we arrived. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. If zero stars or a negative rating were possible, that's what I'd give it.
