The Inn at Venice Beach

The location is nice, close to the boardwalk, and the parking was good. Our room was very clean. The problem was the hospitality. I'm a teacher, and I rarely get a weekend away. This was my first time in the area, but when I asked the front desk girl where things were in the hotel, she kept giving me attitude and confused looks, like I should already know. She wasn't kind during check-in either. We were charged more for parking than the website I booked through had listed, about $15 extra, and they wouldn't acknowledge that price. It really took away from what should have been an exciting trip. The customer service was rude, and the hospitality was horrible.

Alfonso at the front desk was cheerful and had helpful suggestions, and we really enjoyed how close everything was. Restaurants, coffee shops, and bike rentals are all nearby, with the Venice Beach boardwalk, canals, and beach about a five-minute walk away. Our corner room was spacious and spotless, with two queen beds, plush pillows, and beds that were incredibly comfortable. The Wi-Fi was the one problem. Sometimes it was very slow, and sometimes it didn't work. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend the Inn at Venice Beach.

The front desk people were really nice, and helped us quickly and happily at 8pm after the scary room we'd just left at Foghorn Inn. This place was cute, clean, and had everything we needed for a good night's sleep. The carpets didn't have any mysterious substances like the ones at the previous hotel, which was a relief. Parking was provided, though it wasn't free. That's the LA way, but street parking is also available.

The rooms are nice, and the staff are friendly, but parking is $38 a day. It's noisy all the time, from somewhere inside or outside the hotel. Right now I can hear a woman screaming while having sex, and there are kids running around nearby. It was nice when I stayed here two years ago, though.
