Homegate Inn

The room was clean and didn't smell, but the furniture needs updating. There is truck parking by the dumpster.

My husband and I stayed two nights and had no trouble getting a refund for the extra night we'd paid for but decided not to use. The staff and manager were incredibly nice, though they gave us bad directions and we had trouble finding the hotel. Our room was cleaned daily, the beds, pillows and sheets were crisp and clean, and it was quiet apart from our own kids being loud. I inspect every inch and crevice when I enter a hotel room, and I didn't see a roach or bed bug. The place is a bit outdated, the pool wasn't in service, and the refrigerator only worked when it felt like it. Those were the reasons for four stars. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

The last time we stayed here, the checkout was a mess. We were a little late getting out, and between 11:04 and 11:35 we got repeated calls, a knock with a checkout notice, and then a man who said he was the manager came to my car yelling that he needed the key. He could see our things were already in the car, but still told us to hurry up while he locked the room. He kept angrily talking about the 11am checkout as we packed. We’d already said we were leaving, so four contacts in half an hour felt completely unnecessary. This was our third stay, and the first had been okay as a place to sleep. On the second, with our two small infants, the toilet broke in the middle of the night. At checkout, the manager said there was nothing he could do after 11am. Were we supposed to change rooms at 2am with two sleeping babies? We’d paid for two nights but left at 6pm the next day, and still had to pay a full night for those three hours. This last stay also started with us arriving an hour and a half early and being charged an extra $16 on top of the regular rate. They don’t offer free early check-in or late checkout. The place is highly overpriced for what seems to be broken appliances and rude comments. Management is impatient, mean, and unprofessional. We’ll never stay here again. I’ll pay more and take my business elsewhere.

The sheets were stained, and the pillows were about as thick as a three-piece bedsheet set. I was tired from driving late or early in the morning, though, and the owners let me check out at 12pm instead of 11am. They charged me $70 rather than $75. 👍
