Homewood Suites By Hilton Louisville Airport

Freight planes from the airport and UPS hub pass just a few hundred feet overhead, and they sound like they’re right in your room all night. It’s a huge issue, and I’m surprised more people aren’t bothered by it. The hotel itself was nice enough. Our room was large, with two queen beds and a small kitchenette, though the bathroom sink was open to the room. Only the toilet and shower had a door. The gym and breakfast were decent. On the top floor, at least, the water pressure was practically nonexistent. Good luck rinsing shampoo out of your hair.

We’ve been coming here for the Louisville Farm Show ever since Homewood opened, and it feels like visiting family whenever we return. Jessica GM, Alie director of Sales, and the whole crew are so accommodating. They kept up with our schedule, too. We missed Sam this year, but Charles and Ethan did a great job as shuttle drivers and fit right in. Thanks to everyone for making our stay clean, warm, and welcoming. We’ll be back.

The rooms are really nice, with full kitchens and a sitting area. My wife accidentally booked us for five nights even though we stayed four, but they reimbursed us at checkout. The front desk also validated our parking fees, which was nice. My only issue was the thermostat. I could get it to work by fiddling with it, but I let the desk know so they could take care of it for the next guest. I’d stay again without hesitation.

The room had stains or burn marks on the carpet and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed well. There wasn’t any soap at the bathroom sink. I don’t just mean bar soap, which I’m used to not having. The only pump bottle there was labeled “body lotion,” and that isn’t soap or easy to rinse off if you mistake it for soap. The key I asked for at the desk didn’t work either, so I had to use the phone app to get in. The young man at reception wasn’t especially welcoming or interested in helping. Even parking was a hassle. I had to pay extra by scanning a QR code and setting up an account with another company, which took about ten minutes. Charging for parking was annoying enough, but it should have gone on the hotel bill instead of making me jump through hoops. The whole visit was unpleasant and made me wonder what’s happened to the Homewood Suites brand. I won’t stay at this location again.
