The shower curtain didn't close properly or block the light, and the shower floor was extremely slippery, as others have mentioned. On Friday, February 20, I arrived around 1700. At about 1830, I went to shower. The glass panel nearest the on/off switch is fixed in place, so I couldn't reach the handle from outside and got into the shower to turn it on. The water was immediately very cold, and when I tried to get out, I slipped. The door came down too, and I landed on my side on its rail. I wasn't badly hurt, just bruised, and I didn't want to go to the ER or sue or get rich. I reported it to Cassie, the evening manager. She didn't know what to do or file an incident report, and only offered a cold compress. She did offer another room, but I declined. The next morning I told Sandra, who said she was the manager. She also didn't want to make an incident report, but said she'd contact management. I asked for extra towels to clean up the water and mess. At 8 a.m. Sandra said they'd be there when I got back, but when I returned around 5 p.m., there were still no towels. Cassie said I'd had a do not disturb sign up, but I hadn't. I'd removed it before going down to speak with Sandra that morning. They then said cameras pointed at the door and they'd look into it, but the only cameras were at either end of the hallway. This place doesn't seem to care about guests, and the staff aren't trained for what to do when someone gets hurt. I'm writing this so others can decide whether to stay somewhere the employees may care. If you can, stay elsewhere.
The lobby and front desk looked really nice, and I had a good time overall, so I might come back. But our room had bugs, and the sheets were a bit dirty. My friends and I lifted the bed to check underneath and found a lot of dust and dirt, which made me wonder whether housekeeping was cleaning all the spaces. The view was of a sketchy-looking building covered in rust and dirt. They really need to clean those areas.
The bedding and towels smelled musty and metallic, and the beds were the usual uncomfortable hotel kind. The rooms were small. The floor was dirty, though the lack of carpet itself was fine. Breakfast was a letdown: pancakes, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, and an apple, with no meat or eggs. The gravy was cold and tasted like perfume. We had only planned for a quick breakfast, so having to go find food elsewhere threw off our plans. I don't think I'll return.
The shower floor was slippery enough that we put a towel down to step on while showering. Aside from that, the hotel was quiet, the room was clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. They also had a hot breakfast. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area.
I stayed nearly two weeks and liked the hotel, and I'd stay again. The room looked like the pictures, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The lobby and entrance were lovely, and I enjoyed the bar and gym. There was a vacant building right beside the hotel, but it wasn't where I was staying, so it didn't bother me. Breakfast was free, and even though it wasn't top notch, the bagels and yogurt suited me just fine. Housekeeping was my main issue. I usually had the do not disturb sign up, but after night four I asked for my room to be cleaned and the linens changed. It never happened, so after a 13 hr night shift I had to get sheets and change them myself. If I wanted the trash emptied, I'd leave the cans outside the door and someone would eventually take care of them. There also wasn't a TV guide in the room. I called the front desk and was told to come get one, and the person I spoke to printed it out for me. It seems simple to laminate a guide and leave it in each room.
