The Lost Pearl

We picked the secluded caboose for our late September trip through the Ohio countryside. Its railroad theme was fun, and we fell asleep to the faint whistle of a distant train. In the morning, breakfast in the historic farmhouse was fabulous. We also stopped at the little country store and bought honey and handmade goatmilk soaps made right there on the farm. Daniel and Sandra Wiiki have made The Lost Pearl B&B a welcoming country retreat. The grounds and wooded trails gave us a lovely break from everyday bustle, and our hosts’ warm hospitality made the getaway feel magical.

We first found this bed and breakfast four years ago and keep coming back. The house is quiet, the room is clean, and we always feel comfortable. Daniel is ready to help with anything, whether that’s starting a fire, suggesting somewhere for dinner, or offering ideas for a day out. He and his wife are pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast is excellent, both in taste and presentation. We have so many good things to say about our stays. I highly recommend The Lost Pearl!

This was my first bed and breakfast stay, and my boyfriend’s second. His first experience had been awful, so we were a bit unsure, but we really lucked out with this place. We stayed in the Patricia room, which was clean, cozy, private, and nicely decorated. The back patio looked out at the adorable goats. I hardly heard them unless we were outside while they were out. We also enjoyed walking through the woods and garden. The grounds are beautiful, and breakfast was delicious, with lovely presentation as well as taste. They were very accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, and I’d be happy to stay here again.

The Carriage House bed was so comfortable that I slept straight through until morning for the first time in ages. My daughters stayed in the Pirate Room, and all the rooms were beautifully decorated with so much detail. We were in town for a rushed family wedding, but our stay at The Lost Pearl was genuinely relaxing. Daniel and Sandra are wonderful people, and we had plenty of interesting conversation. I loved hearing about the history of the house. Their son is a joy too. It was fun watching him do tricks with the goats and lead them around. Breakfast was amazing, and they managed my special request. Their hospitality went beyond what I expected. Thank you, Daniel and Sandra. We’ll be back.
