The same family has run this lovely little motel for over 40 years, and the care shows. Our room was spotless, with fresh linens, a comfortable bed, and great hot water. It sits in a quiet area, so we got the peaceful night's sleep you want on a road trip. We booked in person instead of online so the family could avoid third-party booking fees. A nice way to support a great local business. Highly recommend it.

There are plenty of fun places to eat within a short block, and the bed was new and extremely comfortable. I had a wonderful stay at the Sundown Inn in Morro Bay. I left a review through Expedia, but a glitch changed my five-star rating to one star. I called, and they couldn't correct it or send me a new review link. If you're looking at Expedia reviews for this motel, please read what I wrote and disregard that one-star error. This is a great place to stay.

The owners even asked how our stay went as we were leaving, which we really appreciated. It's a family-run, welcoming place, and our room was nice and super clean. The property is decorated well, too. Lots of stores and businesses are close by. We'll definitely be back.

Our room felt clean and homey, without that cleaning-product smell, and the innkeeper was flexible. The whole place had a casual feel. It was my favorite hotel on our drive down the coast, and I'd definitely come back to Morro Bay.
