Wingate by Wyndham Murfreesboro

That bed was really comfortable, and the woman at the front desk yesterday gave excellent service. But there were several problems. Breakfast was terrible, the hallways felt dark and scary at night, and the wall by the elevator was filthy. The ice machine leaked into a growing puddle. I told the front desk guy, and he said he knew, after a wet-floor sign had already been put out. The room needed more scrubbing, the shower pressure was low, and the bathroom light came back on by itself after I switched it off. The cleaning staff could do a much better job. The hotel is mediocre, though the bed was enough for a quick night’s rest. We stayed three days after reading the reviews, and on a short, budget trip it might work. The Waffle House is just up the street.

It’s easy to get on and off the Interstate from here, and there’s a fitness room as well. We had a quiet, comfortable night in a spacious, clean room with pleasant decor. Breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold choices.

We stayed for a quick anniversary trip without the kids. The rates were great, the hotel was nice, the location worked well, and the service was good. After checking out, we realized at home that we’d left a few things in the room. Frustratingly, a communication mix-up meant we were told they hadn’t been found. It turned out the general manager had found them and safely put them in the office before leaving for the holiday break. The front desk didn’t know they’d been found, which is why we got the wrong information. I’m updating the review I posted a few days ago.

Breakfast was generous, the staff were wonderful, and our room at the Wingate was large with a comfortable bed. I really enjoyed staying here. One thing I found odd, though, was that the original feedback form had a spot for a staff “tip”.
