The room felt like my own little New York apartment, with a kitchen, living room, dishes, silverware, pots and pans, and a dishwasher. It was relatively clean, and shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were provided. For stays of seven days or longer, cleaning is once a week. My booking was for 7 nights, including the night before I arrived, since I came in on a redeye. I checked in early Sunday morning to get some rest, which worked out perfectly. I’d happily return after an excellent stay. I loved the view of the surrounding apartments’ back gardens, and the room’s quiet and serenity were just right for me. I’d asked for a high floor with a view, but got a lower floor in the “annex” with virtually no view. Still, the gardens were lovely, even though the windows were so filthy it was hard to see out. In the pictures, the view looks like a painting. The free laundry room was wonderful, and they provided soap. The location can’t be beat: it’s a quiet area but easy to get everywhere, with restaurants, shops, and everything else you might need nearby. I walked to Trader Joes for groceries and to a couple of nearby restaurants for take away. My one real complaint is that guests can’t choose the weekly cleaning day. Relatively early Tuesday, after I’d been there only two nights, I heard noise in the usually very quiet hallway shared with just one other room. The cleaning staff had come to clean, and they were adamant even after I said I didn’t need it. I had to get up and leave earlier than planned. It would’ve been better to choose a day halfway through the visit and know about it in advance, so guests can plan.

We loved our 23-day stay at The Beekman Tower. The full kitchen, good bathroom, comfortable bed, and great location made the room fantastic, but the front desk team was what truly made us feel at home. Jimy, from Egypt, has been with the hotel for over 28 years. He knew our room 3G, and all 170 others, by heart, and always greeted us with his positive spirit and “Good to see You” and “La vita è bella.” With people like him around, it really is. Alberto, from Puerto Rico, and Hector, from the Dominican Republic, always welcomed us with a warm “Bom dia” in our native Portuguese, which meant so much. Nelson, also from the Dominican Republic, was the first to welcome us with such kindness and care, and immediately made us feel our stay would be wonderful. Heartfelt thanks to this beautiful, truly international team. You made us feel like part of a unique family in the world at The Beekman Tower. We hope to come back one day!

The free laundry was a plus, and the attendant working the front desk at midnight was friendly. But for what they charge, the rooms and service aren’t up to scratch, and we wish we’d stayed somewhere else. There were plenty of other options in the same price range. We spent 4 nights in December in a one bedroom suite. It was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned properly before we checked in. I found a toenail on the floor, and there were stains on the floors, carpets, and couch. The heater sounded like a jet engine, and the shower was clogged and didn’t drain properly, which was disgusting. We complained 3 times. Each time the front desk said they’d address it right away, but nothing happened. When we followed up, they started getting rude. We also contacted trip.com, but even they couldn’t get the hotel to sort it out. Keep in mind this isn’t a hotel in the usual sense, since they don’t clean rooms daily and there’s no restaurant or room service. Book somewhere else.

The one bedroom apartment was huge, comfortable, and really functional, and I loved the location. On a mixed work and events trip, I felt like I lived there rather than being in a hotel. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful. I’ve already recommended it to a friend and would definitely stay again.

My stay had been awesome until a gas leak or spill left my room smelling like gasoline. It made me nauseous and lightheaded. Staff told me they had to deal with it too and said to crack a window, but the window was screwed shut. I left without knowing whether I’d get a refund for the nights I couldn’t stay. I contacted Expedia and my travel insurance, called 311, and the Fire Department came. They absolutely should’ve let me cancel the remaining nights. Do not stay here.
