M Social Hotel New York Downtown

We got stuck here during a severe snowstorm, and the staff made a stressful extended stay much more relaxing. They helped us keep the same room, arranged limited but very helpful housekeeping, and continued to provide complimentary water bottles. The front desk team was easy to work with and readily available, and the restaurant downstairs was tasty. The building felt very safe, with key card access to your floor and several front desk areas. Our room was spacious and clean, with all the expected amenities and more.

The elevators were painfully slow going up and down, and I’m not sure all of them were working. Still, my partner and I really enjoyed our week here and would absolutely return. The location is magnificent, with the World Trade Center right in front, easy subway and Brooklyn access, and pharmacies and restaurants nearby. We were on the 40th-something floor and had one of the best hotel views I’ve had. The room was good and very spacious, and the bathroom was nice. The shower was a little hard to figure out, haha. I’d have liked streaming services on the TVs, but the staff were very nice.

The views were 10/10, and William treated us so well that I’d come back just to see him again. I wanted to add that Mike, the manager, also made a real difference. He helped sort out confusion about my charges and made sure it was handled properly. I felt looked after and valued, and this is one of my best hotel stays. I’ll be back and would recommend it.

We paid USD 490 per room per night, but the room at Residence Inn was only valued at USD 230 per night. M Social had promised us an equivalent room at the same rate before sending us there. We’d booked months ahead, and they’d confirmed the booking by email a week before we arrived, yet today we were told the hotel was overbooked. The way this was handled was irresponsible, disappointing, and ridiculous. We expected them to honor our reservation or provide a genuinely comparable alternative.
