Element by Marriott Omaha Midtown Crossing

The hotel still has good potential and a solid location, but it needs a refresh. Rooms are getting dated, and the market inside the building has disappeared. Fixtures, finishes, little repairs, and a proper look through every room would make a big difference. A thoughtful renovation could bring it back to the place it used to be, and could still be. I hope management takes a real look and invests in updates. When I stayed before, it felt modern and fresh, with a real wow factor, almost like the next best thing since sliced cheese. The market was a standout, convenient and well done. Now it feels worn with age, though nothing is outright bad.

The rooms were really nice, with a regular-size fridge, and the staff were lovely and remembered us. They also had a little evening gathering with wine and beer, and restaurants were close by. I liked the place overall. The one drawback was paying $15 for parking, until the stop arm mechanism stopped working.

The evening beer and wine happy hour is a nice extra, and breakfast was great. The hotel is modern and nice for the area, though it shows plenty of wear from heavy use. The kitchenette could use more glasses, and the cooking knife needs sharpening. A few small repairs are needed too. The business centre printer wasn't working when I needed to print some things, which was unfortunate. The elevator is painfully slow.

The staff I spoke with were great and answered my questions, and the room was clean throughout. Breakfast had a good range of food, and the hotel's central location suited where I needed to go. It was my first time here, and I'd definitely stay again. The TV kept turning off randomly, maybe it was set on a timer to save energy or something. Parking was "free" because the garage gates were down. That could have been a one-off, since the website says it would otherwise cost $15 a day.
