Tru By Hilton Phoenix Midtown

I’ve stayed at a lot of TRU hotels around the country, and this one is a favorite. The room was spotless and had all the amenities, which is why we choose TRU properties. I’d forgotten an item, and the hotel went above and beyond to get it back to me.

There are only about 15 parking spaces in front of the hotel. If they’re full, you have to use the garage across the street and park upstairs in the hotel section. There’s no signage showing where the ramp is, and no stairs down on the hotel side. You have to walk to the middle of the garage to go downstairs, then cross the street to reach the hotel. I’m fine with walking, but alone late at night it didn’t feel safe. Parking costs extra too, even though you can’t park at the hotel.

My first stay was amazing, but I later realized I’d been on the ritzy side. A year later I accidentally booked the poor side and got a much worse room. The rooms are clean and stocked with towels, but $300 a night for the cheap side is kind of nuts.

Raquel made my stay memorable from the minute I arrived. She was welcoming and looked after me, and she handled everything with real professionalism. She was also so warm and kind, which made the whole experience even better. It’s not often you find both in one person. I can’t recommend her enough.
