Hyatt House Portland/Downtown

I really liked the room layout. It felt like a cozy NYC apartment, with space to spread out and an efficient use of the space. Having a kitchenette was handy, and the bed was very comfortable. There are also several good restaurants within walking distance, and I enjoyed taking walks by the nearby riverfront. I’m glad I chose this hotel for my work trip. Everyone on staff was kind and the room was fantastic. Special thanks to Jaden, the young lady at the front desk, for being especially helpful and kind. I look forward to coming back.

August, I think that was his name, bartended both nights we were there. He was so warm and friendly, and made us feel really welcome. He was the highlight of our trip.

I appreciated how helpful and friendly the front desk staff were. They shared lots of local recommendations and were genuinely cooperative, which gave me high hopes for the stay. When I arrived, though, I found used towels from the previous guest under the bathroom sink and used tissues in the box. The house host came quickly and took the towels away within 10 minutes, but I didn’t expect to find those hygiene issues at this level of hotel. The front desk team’s sincere, proactive help did improve my impression. If housekeeping gets up to the same standard, this could be a fantastic place to stay.

When we came to check in yesterday, their system was down and they wanted us to go to a cheaper hotel and room. I asked for a refund, and they said they would give one, but this morning they said they couldn’t. So I have to call Priceline to get my money back. I refused to stay somewhere different from what I’d chosen. Our booking was for 02/25/2026 to 02/26/2026. They said this had happened before and they couldn’t fix the error. In this day of modern technology, there should be solutions, but it seemed like they didn’t care. It felt more like a hotel scam.
