Portland International Guesthouse

Check-in instructions were clear, and the whole property was very clean. I’ve stayed in several hostel-style places in the US and Europe, and this was my favorite. There were lots of hooks and places to hang things in the room, which many other places don’t have. On the top floor, there was a full bath and a half bath, so I never had to wait. The neighborhood was easy to get around on foot, and the price was fair. No complaints.

It felt like a fancy hostel, and everything was clean. We were upstairs in room 4, which was spacious and had a big walk-in closet. The shared bathrooms were clean, and the kitchenette was well stocked, though it had no knives or hot plate. Parking was the only hassle, but we found a street space without too much trouble. Interesting place, and the location can’t be beat. I’d stay again.

Parking around the neighborhood can be a pain, so keep that in mind when planning. The guesthouse helped us get a temporary parking permit, though, so we didn’t have to keep feeding the meters all weekend. We’d never stayed somewhere with shared bathrooms before, but ours were very clean, and there were only three bedrooms sharing two bathrooms on our floor. The room was small, quiet, cozy, and very clean. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy. There are lots of good places to walk to in this fun neighborhood. A lovely weekend stay, and we’ll come back next time we’re in town. Thanks to the hosts!

The owners seem to have thought of everything, and the place is easy to get in and out of. The rooms were really comfortable and clean, making this a great stop for anyone passing through. Shops for groceries, restaurants, and bus stops are nearby. We took a nice hike up to Washington Park to visit the Japanese Garden and Rose Garden. This will be our go-to spot when we pass through Portland. So good!
