Econo Lodge Raleigh near Walnut Creek Amphitheatre

The room was cleaner than I expected, with plenty of pillows and towels. Some furniture was dated and damaged: the chair had stains, the dresser top had a broken corner, only one bulb in the bedside lamp worked, and the phone was missing a few buttons. The lobby also smelled strangely musty, and I don't know why. There was one small cockroach in the bathroom sink, but I saw no other signs of an infestation. It probably came up through the pipes looking for moisture. I caught it in a coffee cup and let it go outside. If you're on a budget and can put up with a tiny visitor borrowing water from the sink or shower, I'd recommend staying.

The management and ownership were horrible. They wouldn't refund my money even though I didn't stay because they couldn't accommodate me. Don't waste your time. You'd be better off sleeping in your car.

My wife found roaches in the room when we went there on Saturday and told me to get our bags because she wasn't staying. I checked out and got my deposit back, but they still won't return the rest of my money.

The service was pretty decent and the hotel was somewhere in the middle, neither great nor terrible. The room was just okay, though I did see roaches crawling around a few times, which was nasty. I stayed about a week ago while traveling through North Carolina and would come back only if I really needed a place to stay.
