A king room was still available here at midnight on Fourth of July weekend, when everywhere else we called was sold out. I was just passing through and hadn’t booked ahead, so I was very relieved. The room was really clean, the bed was comfortable, and the woman in the office was lovely. I’d stay again and recommend it.

We were exhausted after a 10-hour drive and felt stuck staying here. I called at 9 p.m. to reserve a king room, but when we arrived at 10:30, I was told it wasn’t available. We ended up paying $30 more for a larger room we didn’t need. It was filthy and uncomfortable. The pillows, cases, and bedding didn’t look clean, and there was mold in the bathroom. All we got were two towels and a sliver of soap. So gross. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

There’s plenty nearby, including shopping and a bus, which is useful if you don’t have your own ride. The Sacramento river, river trails, Caldwell park, and downtown are close too. When I stayed here a while back, my room was quiet and clean, and housekeeping came promptly. I really enjoyed the stay.

For what they charge, this place isn’t worth it. The rooms are below average, dirty, and smell bad, and things often don’t work. There are usually some sketchy people hanging around, and the owners are rude and unwilling to help. They don’t make you feel welcome at all.
