The check-in desk was empty for 20 minutes when we arrived, and nobody was there at checkout either. I’d booked a king but got “two queens,” though they were definitely full-size beds. They were incredibly uncomfortable. The floors were stained, the shower had no hot water, and the room was full of bugs, mostly cockroaches. I put down a soda can and found a roach on it when I picked it up. Want to bring German roaches home and infest your house? Stay here! One lamp cord looked cut and taped back together. This was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I’d rather sleep in a tent in the woods, and I’ll never come back.

The people were pleasant, the room was comfortable, and food was an easy walk away. We liked the town too. If we’re back that way, we’d stay here again.

Walter, the manager, was great. He made sure we had everything we needed, including extra towels and pillows, and even let me use the laundry room for free on our first night. He suggested a good place to eat, always had a smile when we spoke, and knew our names.

I stayed six nights in November 2014, and the maid didn’t come to change the sheets until the fifth night. There were bugs in the room. When I told the manager, he replied, “well, you're in the country!” He was nice otherwise, despite that snarky response, but the service and cleanliness were the worst ever. It was my first and last booking there. They need better staff.

I often stay at this Inn when I travel from Atlanta, and the managers are great about making sure guests are comfortable. My whole wedding party stayed here for my wedding in June 2012, and the managers were wonderful. They’ve renovated since then, which makes it even better. I’ll keep coming back for that southern hospitality.
