look, this place was gross. There was someone else’s bar of soap in the shower, and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The water pressure was great until more than a few people checked in, then it got awful. The bed was really comfortable, but if that alone earns a five-star review, the bar is low. Breakfast was halfway okay, I guess. I wish guests had an easier way to get drinking water if they aren’t providing bottles. My room also rattled quite a bit, from both the ceiling lights and the mini fridge. I’d take my money somewhere else.

The building felt old, the location wasn’t appealing, and the room smelled overwhelmingly of cleaner or disinfectant. In the lobby, piles of dirt had been swept up but left there. The bathroom wasn’t fully clean either, with a stray hair and dirt or mildew in some corners and seams. There were no bed bugs, but the towels were very thin and the staff were neutral. We slept and left. It might be fine for one guy, but it wasn’t comfortable for a family, and we won’t return. Don’t be swayed by “Clarion” in the name. We’ve had good experiences at actual Clarion hotels, but it seems Choice hotels buys outdated properties, papers over their flaws with murals, and calls them Clarion “Pointe.” I won’t stay at another Pointe and will vet Choice hotels more carefully in future.

Even the free breakfast was poor, with stale bagels and congealed gravy. The tea bags were cheap Walmart brand without individual wrappers. I wouldn’t stay here again even for free. The bathroom was disgusting and clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we checked in, or perhaps for some time. They’d only put out fresh towels. The toilet base had urine, orange mold, and pubic hair; the inside of the bowl had black streaks running down from the rim. Feces was around the handle and plunger. The shower curtain had pink mold along the bottom, and there was writing on the mirror from the previous guest. The sheets had a thin, see-through patch where they’d been burned or something spilled, and there was dog fur under the heater. When we showed bathroom photos to the front desk clerk, she said “I’m sorry about that,” then went back to looking at her phone. Housekeeping should be fired.

The hallways and room were very clean, and the place was quiet at night. Staff were very nice, and it was easy to get to. I’d definitely stay here again.
