Best Western Plus Sutter House

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent, with eggs, waffles, sausage, and bacon despite being described as continental. The place had recently been renovated and was clean. I found the beds too soft since I prefer a firmer mattress. The pool wasn't filled on 12-24-18, so winter swimmers should call to check. The layout bothered me: the sink isn't behind the same door as the toilet and shower. The front desk said every room is arranged that way.

The rooms were clean, nice, and roomy enough for my family, and breakfast was great. I'd never had hotel biscuits and gravy that good. The dated parts were a drawback, especially the elevator, whose permit had expired. Its inspection was also overdue, and the lights were off in it most of the time I was there.

The place is in a somewhat odd location, so we were pleasantly surprised when we saw our beautiful room. They've turned an average, ordinary hotel into a lovely boutique. Our room opened directly onto the pool through a patio door. We didn't get a chance to swim, but the view was very nice. The front desk was friendly and helpful, and we'd definitely stay again.

Yvette at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. I'd forgotten to print my Best Western gift card, and she helped me use the guest computer to print it. I was stressed because I had a really difficult state exam the next day, and that extra care was exactly what I needed. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a lovely view of the pool and courtyard. The bed was comfy, and we slept well. We also really appreciated the secure parking garage in this area of Sacramento, which is overrun with homeless people.
