Pony Express RV Resort

We keep coming back every summer because the manager is simply the greatest. The staff are attentive, friendly, and make each visit feel special. It’s close to major freeway junctions but still tucked away enough to feel private.

Getting to the park is easy, and the grounds look well maintained. You can tell the staff put effort into caring for the place. The long-term stays are what make it less enjoyable: many sites have piles of belongings and junk, and the overflow lot is full of expired or inoperable vehicles. At some campsites, several cars crowd around a camper and spill into or block neighboring spots. With that clutter, it doesn’t feel especially comfortable or resort-like compared with other RV parks nearby.

The location worked well for us because it’s central to many Salt Lake City destinations and close to our special dentist’s office. We had a reserved RV spot with a nice pull-through, and the concrete pad was flat enough that we didn’t need leveling blocks. Other RVs seemed to need very little leveling too. The area was clean and had good tree shade. We didn’t use the clubhouse, but it looked nice. The showers had good pressure and temperature, and the rooms were spacious. My main complaint is that there are no benches for keeping clean, dry clothes somewhere dry, and not enough towel hooks for tote bags.

The office staff were professional and welcoming, and the nearby biking and walking trails were some of the best we’ve experienced. Still, the facilities need attention. There’s no bathroom storage or shelving, which made things awkward, and people smoking in shared areas was a recurring problem. Modernizing the infrastructure and enforcing the smoking rules more consistently would make the stay better.
