Several cars were broken into, another seven or eight had windows smashed, and other attempts were made. The staff knew about the problem but didn’t warn anyone or do anything. They parked their own cars under the awning so they could keep an eye on them. Breakfast ran out of coffee, waffle batter, butter, cream cheese, milk, English muffins, regular bagels, and plenty more. When we asked, the breakfast worker just said, “I’m sorry we ran out.” The pool was closed over spring break weekend. Staff were missing from the front desk or didn’t answer the phone for long stretches. The beds were terrible and gave everyone in our party back pain. We also didn’t get the rooms we reserved, and I’m not sure they even tried to accommodate us. I gave them every chance to make things right, but they treated me like an inconvenience. Neither the staff and management nor Marriott corporate seemed to care whether we had a good or bad stay. I called Marriott twice. On the second call, the only nice person I spoke to wanted to escalate it to a manager but had trouble reaching one, so I was left on hold for 35 minutes. When I finally spoke with the manager, she was rude, uncaring, and lied to us. She put us on hold mid-sentence for another 20 minutes, then hung up.

The staff made the stay for me. They were friendly, attentive, and wonderful. The building and rooms could use a makeover, and I only wish the pool and hot tub had been working. Still, the price and location are pretty great, with an all-you-can-eat Japanese hot pot and BBQ spot nearby. I’ll book here again for my next budget trip.

The room had plenty of space and was really comfortable. Check-in was easy, and the service stood out. The concierge also shared some great ideas for places to visit and things to do.

The staff were pleasant, and the room was clean with no odd smells. I liked the range of pillows, from firm to soft, and the shower had good pressure. I didn’t have to crouch to fit under the shower head. Breakfast was mixed for me: I didn’t like the eggs, but the waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, and cereals were fine. Coffee and hot chocolate were available around the clock. A few things could be better. The fridge switched itself off after a few hours, so it wasn’t much use for keeping milk cold. The room lights were dim, and I couldn’t open the window for fresh air. There weren’t any blankets available if you got cold.
