La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio Seaworld/LAFB

I had to cancel a non-refundable reservation because of unforeseen, deeply personal circumstances. La Quinta San Antonio’s management reviewed what happened and initiated a refund despite the policy. They were understanding and compassionate during a very overwhelming time, and I’m grateful for their kindness. That empathy and flexibility meant a lot to me. I highly recommend La Quinta San Antonio for its customer service and care for guests. Thank you, La Quinta, and especially the Manager. She is a keeper.

The room was much larger than I expected and very nice. It looked brand new, so it wasn’t surprising that everything was clean. The carpet was wet, as if it had just been cleaned without enough time to dry. That may have been my issue since I arrived early. This was an extra night on my work trip so I could see a friend nearby. I got there around noon, and the place looked brand new, with maybe six cars in the lot. I was surprised when the receptionist said I was early and a room wouldn’t be ready until 1 at the earliest. I wasn’t in a rush, so I worked on my laptop in the waiting area until they called me for the key. My biggest issue was the essential oil smell, something I’ve run into at several hotels in the SAT area. For whatever reason, they seem to use a very strong cleaner that smells like concentrated essential oils. It’s almost enough to make me nauseous. I’ve learned all the hotels use it, so the options in SAT are pretty limited. Still, it was a good experience, and I’d stay here again if I needed to.

I found an insect in the bed and reported it right away, but they offered no solution. Because the conditions felt unsanitary and unsafe, my family and I had to leave that same night and book another hotel. The service was extremely poor. Management never spoke to me directly, and the front desk was rude and unprofessional. Even though we left, I was charged for two nights. Later, the hotel denied the problem altogether, which is very concerning. I’m disputing the charges and have reported this further. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Check your room carefully before settling in.

The facility was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was fantastic, with easy access from any direction. This is one of the top-notch LA Quinta Inn's we’ve been to. Breakfast was standard for this hotel chain, but the whole area was beautiful, clean, and well stocked.
