The lack of an elevator was a problem for my bad back: I had to haul my suitcase up two flights to the front desk, then two more to my room. When I arrived, a little old woman at the desk spent half an hour searching a stack of at least a hundred printed reservations. She didn’t have the computer password, and the whole week’s bookings were mixed together without any organization. The furniture was covered in sweat stains, like it had been pulled from a dumpster after heavy rain, and I’ve never seen a dirtier hotel. In the morning the shower water came out dark brown. You can hear the club next door through the walls, which looked nearly as dirty as the chairs. Stay away, possibly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.

Recently, two iPhone 11 Pros were stolen from my room. When I asked management to let me view the surveillance footage, they didn’t cooperate. I’d also come back from a short run to get food and found a maid nearby, saying my room door had been “left open.” I’ve found the door open several times. Hallway doors stay open day and night, people often smoke near them, and smoke slips into the room through gaps in the door frame. Most nights are cold, though they’ll provide blankets. There is a receptionist, but they’re rarely available, and the maids only clean on request. Stay home.

Parking is basically nonexistent, especially on such a busy nightlife street. I’d suggest using the 24-hour parking next to El Capitain on mission. The place was nice and clean, with basic shampoo and conditioner. The rooms are smaller than usual, but that was easy to overlook. The beds are stiff but comfortable, and my room had a microwave and mini fridge. Overall, a nice stay.

There are several restaurants within walking distance, which was the only plus for me. I found the hotel uncomfortable and won’t book it again or recommend it. The pictures gave a very different impression from what I saw when I opened the door: one bed, one table, and no phone in the room, so bring your cell. The room was saturated with Lysol spray. It’s just up from the Tenderloin on the Mission. The staff seemed more confrontational than friendly. After seeing the room, I tried to cancel the second night, and the Middle Eastern woman at the desk seemed upset that we disliked the location.
