Union Hotel

After checkout, they confirmed the room was in good condition but still kept my security deposit without a proper explanation. The male staff member was rude and disrespectful, and seemed to be trying to use my credit card fraudulently.

I paid around $60 for a room here about two years ago. It was decent for a night when you just need somewhere to rest, and I'm glad a place at that price is available in this city. It's family-run and the staff were kind. The location was pretty grungy, though, and the shared restrooms didn't seem very clean. Definitely not a luxury place.

The family running this place were extremely friendly, and everything was simple but clean. It's a good base in the Mission district, right beside the BART station entrance. They recommended Pakwan, an Indian restaurant I loved. Just don't expect luxury.

The family who run the place are very friendly and clearly care about keeping it clean, including the toilet area. The Mission District itself is very cool, but this hotel's immediate surroundings feel like a post-apocalyptic third-world setting. The room was so small that it got to me, and I ended up booking somewhere else, so technically I had two rooms in SF. You can hear the neighbours easily, and one shower for about 20 rooms isn't great. For the price, I'd spend a few more dollars on a hostel or something.
