San Marcos Inn

I booked and paid online, but when I arrived I found out I didn't meet the age requirement. I'm 20, and I'd booked and stayed there before without a problem. The woman wouldn't refund me and told me to go through my booking app. The app sent an email asking for my money back, but there was no response. Never again.

I had reserved a room with my card and arrived late, around 2 a.m. The sign said to ring the bell for night service. It took the woman forever to come out, and then she was incredibly rude and said there were no rooms, even though the neon red vacancy sign was on and I saw no cars there besides what looked like hers. As far as I could tell, she was angry because she had to work. If you take the overnight shift at your own motel, check your mood before answering the bell.

I know the other reviews may make me the odd one out, but this has probably been my best hotel stay ever. The room is pretty basic, just a microwave, mini fridge, and TV. What makes it so good is how peaceful it is. The highway is right next to me, but I can't hear it. There are about 50 rooms, and somehow I'm literally the only guest here. I know that probably won't happen again anywhere else.

The place was old, dated, and run down. At check-in, an unfriendly manager tried to charge us twice even though we had a receipt showing we'd paid. The bed cover had a cigarette burn, there was hair and a cockroach in the bathroom, and old food was left in the fridge.
