Coronado Motel

We spotted a few spiders crawling on the bedding and searched for bed bugs, though thankfully we didn't find any. When I switched on the porch light, I saw spiders hanging all over the ceiling just outside the door, so I'm glad I didn't walk straight out. Inside, it looked like the last update was in the '70s, with wood paneling, old carpet, and old floral bedding. The rooms were awful for $100, probably worse than a $20 crack hotel in a big city. We chose it at the last minute because the big hotels were booked and this place had rooms closer to Cedar Point. We drove there with family the day before our park visit and wanted to stay overnight to get an early start. I wish we'd never found this place. Sleeping in the car and saving the $100 would've been better. It's too bad, because the right owners could update it and make a fortune.

There weren't enough towels or soap, and there's no Wi-Fi, laundry, ice machine, or housekeeping. The sheets had stains, there were cracks and holes in the ceiling and walls, and the room smelled funky. There was mold in the shower too.

We were so relieved to have our air mattress in the car because there was no way we'd sleep on that bed. The whole room was disgusting, and we didn't even want to walk around in socks. We should've left, but we had already paid. A photo of the lamp beside the bed gives you an idea of it. If I could give this motel zero stars, I would.

The room smelled awful and was filthy, and it looked nothing like the photos. The place is run down and nowhere near worth $90. There was even a box of condoms on the office counter, which made it seem like maybe a flop motel. This felt like an absolute hotel scam.
