Being able to walk to Autzen Stadium is the big draw here, especially on a busy Saturday for a Ducks game. Rates around Eugene are generally reasonable, though they jump on football game days, so plan for that. I didn’t see any EV charging in the large parking lot, so check if you’re bringing an electric car. A north-facing room looks out toward the McKenzie River, but traffic makes that side louder, so light sleepers might want the other side. The rooms are spotless, modern and practical, with a mini fridge. The Hilton app lets you check in and use a digital key, so you can get around without much interaction, though it doesn’t feel cold. Breakfast has grab-and-go food, fruit, cold cereal, a rotating hot item such as eggs, and the entertaining automatic pancake machine. There’s a pool table in the lobby and a relaxed atmosphere for unwinding. This is a Tru property, so it isn’t a luxury hotel like a Conrad, but it delivers what it promises: clean, efficient and comfortable. For a Ducks weekend, walking to Autzen and avoiding stadium parking is hard to beat.

The pancake machine was a fun touch, and breakfast was good, with hot coffee, egg omelet and sausage. After we’d chatted through the app, the front desk welcomed me when I arrived. The hotel felt clean and modern throughout, and I was very happy with my stay.

We were in town for my daughter’s swim meet, and the Willamalane Swim Center was only an 8-minute drive away. The breakfast was free and filling, with eggs, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal, bagels and cream cheese, cereal, plus plenty of other choices. I loved the electric window shades, digital key and the TV feature that automatically logs you out of your accounts. The lobby pool table and swing chairs were a hit with me, especially those chairs, I was obsessed! The staff were amazing. The kind, approachable woman preparing food chatted with me about the hotel, the swing chairs and her time working there. She was lovely to my daughter too, giving her candy and congratulating her on her swims. The hotel was a pleasant surprise, modern, clean and packed with nice amenities.

We stayed at three newer, pet-friendly hotels with amenities during our vacation, including overnight stops on the way to our destination and back. Tru by Hilton in Lodi California stood out because of its staff. We’ve never been treated with such kindness and professionalism. The lobby looked amazing, decorated for Xmas, and had fun games like a pool table and giant connect 4. They serve breakfast and have parking, too. The staff were really nice, the facility is beautiful, and my room was super clean with a comfy bed. Highly recommend!
