Nantucket Inn & Suites

It's a family-friendly, well-maintained place with a nice pool. Our small room was fine, the AC worked well, and the fridge kept drinks cold. The location is the main selling point, but everything else was good too.

After Labor Day, with school back in session and the weather cooling, $80 felt like a steal. For the night, I got a sweet retro living room and a modern bedroom, plus a full-size fridge and kitchenette. The bed and pillow were firm but easy to sleep on. The owner was really cool and talkative and suggested restaurants, including Olympic Flame, right at the top of the boardwalk entrance, a very short walk from the hotel. It was perfect for breakfast. My first Wildwood stay, compared with Ocean City, was a fantastic experience.

When we told management the refrigerator had been left dirty with sticky candy in it, they had it cleaned. But Hector, the housekeeping manager, was sarcastic and said he'd stand outside our room because we'd have more complaints. The shower wasn't draining properly, so we called about it. Hector spoke to me and my family in a very angry, disrespectful tone. He said the tub was working fine, accused me of doing something to it, and complained that I'd raised issues numerous times. I was literally in shock at how he spoke to us. I didn't feel safe staying there, so I asked management for a refund. They offered one night's refund. It was an awful experience, and hotel management needs to address how this man speaks to customers.

It's close to the beach and boardwalk, and the other staff were great. But the rooms were dated and very dirty, and the blinds were broken or wouldn't close. There was a hole in the ceiling above the tub, with towels wrapped around the pipes. When people upstairs flushed, the pipes and towels leaked on you while you showered and smelled awful. I don't expect much from these motels in terms of cleanliness, but the owner was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful and ruined the trip for us. The owner was insane. Do NOT stay here.
