Golden Land Hotel

We loved how easy it was to explore the Old Quarter from here. The main sights and lots of good restaurants were within walking distance, and the hotel gave us a restaurant list that we really appreciated. The places we tried were delicious, clean, and trustworthy. Many were Michelin-recommended, with a good range of prices and food styles, so you can pick what suits you. The staff made us feel at ease, almost like old friends. Shawn, if I got his name right, spoke English very well and handled every situation in a friendly, smooth, and professional way. His hospitality alone would make me recommend a stay here. I would happily come back and recommend the hotel in every way.

On this third visit to either Golden Amour or Golden Legend Boutique Hotel, Kate, who manages both very efficiently, suggested the Golden Legend Boutique this time. The balcony looked out over Chan Cam Street, which has a romantic atmosphere, especially at night. Roger and Shawn made our stay first class again. Brian and Zuzana from Melbourne.

Such friendly, kind staff. They went out of their way from booking through checkout, helping with tours, arranging a birthday cake, and organizing our airport taxi. The location is amazing, right in the middle of everything. Breakfast was decent, especially since it was included. There were some tiny ants in the room, but it still felt quite clean, so that wasn't a deal breaker. The place did feel a little rundown, though the value was crazy good.

We arrived after a long international trip to find our confirmed suite had been given away. We had booked the hotel's most expensive suite for three nights, with confirmation, and this completely ruined the start of our carefully planned trip. The manager said it was released because I was “uncontactable at 5 PM,” even though they knew I was on an international flight. I had told them my flight arrival time through booking after they asked, selecting the option showing we'd reach the airport at 5:30 PM. The reservation clearly said “payment at the hotel,” so no advance payment or card charge was required. While I was in the air, they called me, of course I couldn't answer, and tried to charge my card five times, each for a different amount. I have photo evidence. I had temporarily blocked my cards while traveling in Vietnam because of the high number of scams, a common and reasonable precaution. We landed, cleared immigration, traveled from the airport, and reached the hotel around 7:45 PM, only to hear our room was no longer available. It was shocking and unacceptable. The lack of understanding, flexibility, and basic professionalism was incredibly upsetting. I'd strongly caution future guests, particularly people arriving on international flights or booking higher-tier rooms. A confirmed booking here doesn't guarantee anything.
