Good Vibes Central Hotel

The location is a strong point, within walking distance of Benh Tanh Market and surrounded by food places and cafes. The hotel is simple, so keep expectations modest. Service has a family hotel feel, without anything fancy. They did offer help when the toilet clogged. Our room faced the main road, so we heard traffic, though it eased after midnight. There’s also a lounge and bar just downstairs, which we could hear. On our last night, water dripped from the air conditioner.

Inside, the boutique hotel has simple, distinctive decor, and the rooms are clean and a decent size. Breakfast is uncomplicated but tasty, and reception speaks good English. It’s suited to budget, business, or family stays. The location is strategic, just a five-minute walk from Ben Thanh Market. Booking early through Agoda can make the nightly price cheap. I’d recommend it and would come back.

We checked out after spending about ten minutes inspecting the room. There were stains everywhere, and mold inside the bathtub. Even so, they made us pay for the full night and wouldn’t return our passports and IDs until we paid. The staff seemed friendly at first. Check the room thoroughly before accepting it.

We found the room neither cozy nor clean, and the hotel didn’t look like the photos. Housekeeping hadn’t put out a toothbrush, and the refrigerator was empty for both nights. On the first day, we didn’t even know there was supposed to be charged water in the fridge. At checkout, the front desk insisted housekeeping had stocked the minibar. They didn’t believe us, which was ridiculous. The staff should look into whether this was their mistake. For this room price, you can get a much nicer room nearby. I’m sure it would be much better.
