The house is gorgeous, with Bauhaus inspiration, and it’s peaceful too. We loved our stay at the serene estate. Olga and her team are wonderful at hospitality, and you can watch wildlife come through the garden. Carl’s breakfast, recommendations and local facts were all top tier. I’d absolutely recommend booking here for a visit to St. Lucia.

We spent two nights at the Serene Estate and had a fabulous time. The house has a modern, minimalist European style set in an African context. Our room was clean and stylish, and the cozy lounge has an Honesty bar where guests are encouraged to relax. The large pool is right beside a park visited often by monkeys and red duikers, and sometimes hippos too. The guest rooms are only a few meters from it, so an early swim is easy. Breakfast was excellent and can be eaten on the terrace. It’s freshly made, so you need to agree on the time a day ahead. We’d definitely recommend staying here!

We spent three nights there in February, and it was a wonderful place to stay. Loved the design, rooms, gardens and breakfasts, and the staff were super great. St Lucia is an easy three-hour drive north of Durban. It has a very relaxed, friendly feel, and hippos wander around after dark. We had a lovely time.

There’s a real sense of privacy, with lovely colours throughout the building and a very good bed. It’s a perfect, distinctive lodge in a nice modern building. The long swimming pool is actually good for swimming and gets cleaned every day. The housekeepers are friendly!
