Camila made dinner feel especially welcoming. She knew the menu, offered helpful recommendations, and was attentive and lovely to talk with. We started with the delicious cheese fondue, then shared a local picada that my wife enjoyed and a bottle of Malbec that paired beautifully with everything. The fresh baked bread was fantastic too. My lamb and red fruits risotto was rich and balanced, one of my favorite dishes of the trip. Kau Kaleshen is cozy and charming, and this was one of our favorite meals in El Calafate.

The lamb risotto and Malfattis were both far too salty, and by the time we realized we couldn't finish them, we'd already eaten too much to send them back. We mentioned the problem when the waiter asked about the food. They apologized, but that was all, which felt like poor customer service. We chose the place because TripAdvisor made it sound good, so the meal was a real disappointment. The food felt overhyped to us, and I wouldn't return or recommend it. I'd choose somewhere else.

The trout was moist and delicious, with tasty vegetables cooked just right. Service was friendly, and the place has a genuinely cozy, home-like feel. Even the tea, served in a retro teapot, added a nice touch.

The mushroom and onion pizza cost 44000 pesos, but it was basically bread piled with salty toppings, and nowhere near worth that price. Prices are much higher than the menu posted a year ago.

The place looked nice, but our dinner ended before it began. We were seated, then about 10 minutes later a staff member said there'd been a mistake and they needed the table, so we had to leave. It was an organization problem, not an issue with the food.
