For a place to sleep between hikes, this is probably okay. As a hotel, though, it fell short. You can hear everything, there’s no WiFi in the room, and the old mattress made it feel like I could feel its base underneath me. There wasn’t even a kettle for coffee. It’s dated, but at least it was clean. It really needs renovating.

The place was clean, but there were a lot of problems. The beds were awful, with old twin mattresses and springs digging into my back all night. The shower temperature kept changing, and most of the water sprayed out of the tube before reaching the shower head. We arrived at 9:45 pm to find the front desk closed, so they’d left our keys out as arranged. That felt rather early for hotel service to end. The hotel is very outdated and has no WiFi, too.

The receptionist was really simpatico, and I enjoyed chatting with him. The location is great, it was clean, and the staff were very friendly. It’s perfectly adequate for what it is, as long as you’re not expecting the Ritz. My friend and I slept too late to make our last hike, so when I come back to do it, I’ll keep this hotel in mind.

The staff and location were good, with major attractions less than an hour away. We were planning to spend our time outdoors anyway, since the rooms weren’t up to standard and there’s no WiFi. Breakfast could have included at least a boiled egg.
