Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, London S, Ontario

I spent a week here while my husband was in the hospital. The rates were reasonable, and after long days, the really comfortable beds were just what I needed. Breakfast was another plus, with lots of options. The rooms are a little dated, but the bed comfort and breakfast made up for that. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. Highly recommend.

Breakfast had a nice mix of hot and cold options, including pastries, toast, yogurt, fruit, waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, and juice. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean too. The queen beds were a real plus for our family travelling with teens. There was a slightly odd smell from the heating and air conditioning unit. Since it was a warm night, we left it off. A convenient, fairly inexpensive place for a quick one-night stay.

The curtains could do a better job of blocking light, but otherwise this was a great value. I paid half as much as at the nearby Best Western, and the service was better. Check-in was much faster, the receptionist was quick, and breakfast was simple but appreciated. The room was spacious, very clean, had better in-room coffee, and didn't smell.

The old-style bathroom fan was another dated feature, though I like having it to keep air moving and made sure to switch it off when I left. The room's air conditioner was old-school too, with high and low settings for heat, fan, and cooling, plus a temperature dial. To keep the room cool, something has to run all the time. That suited me since I like a cold room and the steady sound acted as white noise. I spent two nights here while visiting my brother in London and found it a good place at a fair price. My fourth-floor king suite had been recently updated and painted. The room and bathroom were clean, the bathroom was well stocked, and there was plenty of space. The flooring and paint seemed new, while some of the equipment was older. I'd recommend it for a clean stay with a small breakfast each morning.
