Clonmel Castle

The food and wine were generous and delicious, and from the minute we walked in, it felt like stepping into another world where everything had been thought of. The castle is full of color, lovely details, and cozy little corners. Lyneee is so sweet and charming, and she takes care of everyone and everything like a natural host. Such a lovely stay. I can't wait to return!

We had a girls' weekend at the Castle and had a wonderful time. Breakfast and high tea were both spectacular, with great food and service. Our room was even better than I expected, luxurious, with everything close at hand. Clonmel Castle is beautifully furnished and has the feel of a real old English inn. I'd happily come back, whether for another friends' trip or a getaway as a couple.

We rode some of the area's incredible rail trails and stayed at the Clonmel Castle for two nights. We found this ideal BnB through Ontario by Bike, and yes, we'd absolutely recommend it and hope to stay again. Our room, the Crown, was incredibly quiet, even with all the guest rooms occupied. We couldn't hear anyone, and the retrofitted A/C was quiet too. The older property has been renovated. There were lots of decorative artifacts on the furniture, which left us limited space for our things. The beds felt softer than we prefer, though they were still very comfy. Lynneee was extremely accommodating about our arrival time, dietary needs, and other requests. She aims to please each guest and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home. Her staff were just as welcoming. She's also respectful of how much interaction you want with her, the other guests, and the staff. Breakfast was delicious and usually brought to our room, though we could have eaten in the breakfast/dining room instead. We stored our bicycles inside the foyer and were grateful for that, even though getting them in and out was a little awkward.

The king suite was spotless and felt like a nice mix of rustic and modern. It had a beautiful balcony where we could sit and watch the animals and nature around us. Even with other guests in the castle at the time, our room was so quiet we didn't hear a peep. The construction must be good. Lynneee was kind and made our stay feel personal and special. We enjoyed the included charcuterie board in the evening, and breakfast was delicious and filling too. We only had one night there, unfortunately, but it was a wonderful experience. I'd recommend it for a romantic getaway or a visit to Dover. 10/10, I'd return! We took a picture at night, when the castle looked so beautiful all lit up.
