Inn On The Harbour

This time I was there for work, after a family vacation stay years ago. The bathroom was filthy around the toilet, with stains down the front and something on the floor. There was trash under the counter and behind the sink. I'm done with this place. On that earlier visit, we found food garbage and pills under the bed. We complained, and they cleaned the room and reimbursed one night's stay, but then one of the pills they were meant to dispose of turned up on top of our bed. We had photos showing our own duvet on the bed, but they said it wasn't theirs because it wasn't their bedding. We left it there, thinking we wouldn't return.

The dining room has a phenomenal view, and the staff make the place feel like home. I've stayed a few times now, and the rooms have always been clean. I'll be back.

The old building has clearly had a recent refit. Inside it's modern and well looked after, and the beds were clean and comfortable. My insomnia even eased up: I woke only three times, compared with my usual six or eight in an unfamiliar bed. I really appreciated how the hotel handled our arrival with my service dog. They didn't assume we were pretending or ask for ID. They simply saw that she was behaving properly and accepted her. It's rare to be treated that way, and it meant a lot. The staff seem to have been given the understanding to make guests with service dogs feel welcome instead of criminalized. That's how it should be. Thank you, seriously.
