Hotel Torbrau

The warm, personal atmosphere at Hotel Torbräu made it feel comfortable and authentic, much less corporate than other hotels. The included breakfast was delicious, and everyone on staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It's a great base for Munich. Marienplatz is a short walk away and the S-Bahn takes about five minutes to reach on foot, so getting around was easy. We also stayed at Hotel MIO during our visit. It was fine, but we'd choose Hotel Torbräu again without hesitation. We loved our stay and would gladly return. Highly recommended.

My room was quite large, and the shower was literally the best I've ever had. The location is great too, with a train or subway stop very close by. You can walk to the major sights, but it's far enough from the carousing crowds that it doesn't get too noisy.

Being near the Viktualienmarkt was convenient, and for a good coffee I'd recommend the quick walk to “sweet spot kaffee”. The hotel itself had a beautiful room with striking design choices, and it was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The little elevator was small but quaint, adding to the charm. One of my best hotel experiences. I'd happily stay again if I return to Munich.

Breakfast was included and very nice, and the location is ideal for walking everywhere. The hotel itself, though, is rundown and badly needs renovation. The rooms are small and don't meet a four-star standard.
