BQ Amfora Beach Hotel - Adults Only

The buffet dinner was only a five-minute walk away in another building, but it had an incredible range of dishes, including plenty for vegetarians. Breakfast was great too, and the rooms were clean with really friendly staff. We had a perfect five days here. 10/10, would recommend.

As a solo traveller, I picked a hotel for the security and convenience, not an apartment. But at check-in I was told every single-occupancy guest was put in an unstaffed apartment block across the road from the main hotel. I had to cross over for breakfast and the pool, and coming back later in the evening left me feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable. It defeated the reason I'd booked a hotel. I asked reception if I could move to a room in the main building and was told no. Check-in was also very slow, which made for a disappointing start. I wouldn't recommend this place to people travelling alone. It didn't offer the security or service I expected from a hotel.

Gemma was especially helpful, sorting out a booking mistake we'd made online with real efficiency and kindness. The room was very clean and hard to beat for the price. The airport is five minutes away, and the 24-hour reception arranged a taxi for us at 4am. Highly recommend.

The room size is hard to justify for the price. In front of the toilet there was barely room for your knees while sitting, and the double room had two separate single beds instead of one bed. We were also given just one key for the couple, rather than one each. Cleanliness, service, and the staff were good, though.
