Alba Hostel Glasgow

Getting around Glasgow was easy, with a railway station and bus stop right across the road, and the price was very affordable. Inside, the beds were comfortable and the rooms and toilets were clean. The owner was really sweet and friendly, too. I’ve stayed in a few three-star hotels that didn’t impress me as much as this place. We had such a lovely time that it almost made us feel we didn’t deserve somewhere this nice. Thanks, Mauro, for making our Glasgow trip even better. I’d definitely consider staying here on my next visit.

The kitchen was excellent, and we enjoyed chatting with other travelers in the common rooms. Our beds were comfortable, and the showers had hot water with great pressure. Mauro at reception was incredibly friendly and accommodating. My husband and I spent a couple of peaceful, relaxing nights here. It’s a little further from the city center, so the area is quiet, but the bus stop and train station are only a short walk away. Great value, and I’d recommend it.

Meeting guests who had been staying longer made it easy to talk with people who knew the city. Breakfast had a lovely, open atmosphere, and I liked the respectful, friendly crowd the hostel attracted. The shared six-person room was clean and felt secure, and the staff and other guests were all really nice. The kitchen was handy, too, and breakfast was swell. I visited a few months ago, and my time at the hostel added a lot to what became my favorite vacation in Glasgow. I truly enjoyed staying there and can’t think of a single criticism. For anyone with allergies, the room was very clean, and the sheets were nice, regular cotton rather than a material with a synthetic main component. Best wishes, Isabel

The hostel is handy for local transport, with services that can take you around the city and across Scotland. The rooms are bright and clean, and the staff are so happy to help, going out of their way to make your stay a good one. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. It’s the best hostel I’ve stayed in, and I’ll be sorry to leave, but life goes on.
