The Heritage Hotel

We walked to the Botanic Gardens, through the university and back via the riverfront parks, and went to dinner at the nearby Zizzi. The area felt safe and was easy to get around on foot. The hotel is in a good spot for sightseeing and shopping, and staff at reception were friendly and helpful, pointing out a few nearby things to see. The rooms and bathroom were large, clean, and the beds comfortable. The building sits above road level, so the main entrance is reached by a ramp along its side. There are about eight spaces in the small car park at the back. We arrived at 1:30pm on a busy Saturday and found a spot without trouble. We only had one night in Glasgow and wished we'd had more time to stay.

The rooms are nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. The shower's pretty small, made worse by a bulky shower system taking up space. The room doors are frustrating to shut. Breakfast was decent and the server was friendly, though the turkey rashers and sausage could be much better.

We had no trouble leaving our bags for a few hours after checkout, and a taxi to the city centre is only £7. The West End location is great. It's a very nice place, with a good bed, clean room and really lovely staff. Breakfast is solid if you like a full fry, though the continental choice is a little lacking. All in all, I'd definitely recommend it.

The location in the West End is really convenient, with an easy walk to the subway for getting to the city centre and other parts of town. Our room was spacious and clean, and the TV worked, so we watched the World Cup and Wimbledon. Still, I would only stay again if other places were booked up. The room felt warm and stuffy, though that may have been unavoidable, breakfast wasn't appealing and I missed having porridge, and worst of all the showers were freezing in the morning with no hot water at all.
