I was pleasantly surprised by my first night sleeping in a Wetherspoons. The room cost £53, and the girl who helped me out, Ellie I think, was super nice and laid-back. Couldn’t ask for better staff. It was the usual Wetherspoons beer and food, and breakfast was nice at about £8. Later that day I had a pint at the Wetherspoons in Stansted airport, where breakfast was double the price. I’d recommend staying here.

Good value, with a very good variety of food and drinks. It can get a bit rowdy now and then, and bar service can be slow compared with less busy pubs. Food service is okay, and the staff are generally nice and friendly, even if they’re a bit busy.

The booth wasn’t clean when we sat down. The table was sticky, and it looked like the previous person had thrown ice into the corner of the seat. I had a burger and chips with a side salad for dinner at Weatherspoon. It tasted very nice, though the chips arrived lukewarm. Still good value for money. I might try breakfast before heading back to London.

The bald, bearded manager, Rob I think, was quite happy to keep serving customers who were absolutely plastered and shouting today, ruining the experience for everyone else. His attitude was obnoxious and showed what I felt was cowardice in his role of protecting customers’ and staff’s experience. Bar service also seems to fall apart on his shift.

The rooms are lovely, and I was really impressed. The bathroom is spacious and lovely too. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
